Bowers College of Computing and Information Science’s class of 2026 were encouraged to pen new maps during the department recognition ceremonies held Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23 in Barton Hall.
‘Moonshot’ project aims to restore trust in the digital public sphere
Cornell researchers have received a seed grant for $250,000 and a chance at a $10 million award from the Laude Institute to support a five-year “moonshot” project aimed at using artificial intelligence to establish a new foundation for trustworthy AI-mediated communication across online platforms.

Cornell researchers contribute more than 40 papers to CHI 2026
Cornell researchers will have a major presence at the Association for Computing Machinery’s Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI 2026), the premier international venue for human–computer interaction. This year, faculty, students, and collaborators across Cornell contributed more than 40 papers spanning AI safety, accessibility, digital well‑being, creative tools, robotics, and sociotechnical systems.
